80% of search engine optimisers believe internal links are imperative for on-page optimisation, according to SEMrush and SplitSignal’s study.
According to the report, 85% respondents consider SEO to be “crucial” and “very” important for their business. However, 68% of participants reported not split-testing SEO owing to the lack of right tools, and another 68% lack time.
51% don’t have the budget for SEO split testing. Moreover, 51% have a hard time deciding on a clear SEO test result. Testing title tags at 86% is the most popular SEO test, followed by testing meta descriptions (71%), and heading tags (51%).
Despite most marketers acknowledging the importance of internal links, only 42% test them. Meta titles heading tags and schema mark-ups are also considered vital for on-page SEO optimisation. Marketers saw a boost in organic traffic, after an SEO test.
