The feature, which is accessible for Android WhatsApp users, will now be available for iOS users.

The popular "disappearing messages" function will now be available on WhatsApp's iOS beta version.  To check if the functionality is available to them, iOS users can send a photo or a video and look for the "view once" option in the chatbox.

After the recipient has viewed the media on their devices, it will disappear. When recipients open the image or video, they will be notified as the message will read "opened", while senders can see who has viewed the media.

In addition, a recent desktop beta version was also spotted with WhatsApp's multi-device capability.  The company is also working on a function to allow users to send images without excessively compressing them.
