ShipStation’s report revealed that shipping and delivery experiences have a direct impact on the repeat purchase decisions of 87% of consumers.
With consumers facing supply chain issues amid COVID-19 in 2020, customers’ expectations of transparency into shipping and delivery have increased, as per the report. Over 85% of respondents polled want complete transparency into shipment timelines before making any online purchases.
During the checkout process, customers expect retailers to provide real-time shipping charges and arrival estimates. More than 50% of consumers expect brands to offer free shipping.
Even when the pandemic is over, 74% of consumers would prefer purchasing online to shopping in-stores. Moreover, 43% indicated they are less likely to shop with retailers that do not offer curb-side pickup options “indefinitely.” Further, 57% of consumers feel more financially secure than last year and are more willing to spend.
