Mailjet’s recent Data Compliance Survey found that many businesses do not comply with local data protection laws and regulations.
A whopping 62.4% of survey respondents said their company is not entirely compliant with the data regulations that apply to them, including GDPR, CCPA and CDPA. Only 37.6% of respondents said they are fully compliant with data protection regulations.
Mailjet’s survey of 1000 professionals based on EMEA and North America also found that 24% of respondents do not even know which data regulations apply to them. Nearly half of respondents said companies have had to add or change their marketing technology to comply with applicable data regulations. Companies spend around $10,000 or more each year to remain compliant with data regulations.
EMEA companies are closer to being fully compliant with data laws than their North American counterparts. Additionally, EMEA businesses are also often more rigorous about compliance.
