The ad market in the US expanded 35.2% in June 2021, as opposed to the same month last year.
In June this year, the US ad economy expanded 35.2%, making it the fourth consecutive month of expansion since the industry pulled out of its COVID-19 recession. However, this year’s ad economy growth represented only a 0.3% increase over June 2019.
While digital and analog media showed a substantial gain in June this year, the national television ad market remained 19% below June 2019. Most of the growth came from small companies.
The top 10 ad categories grew by only 23.1% in June 2021, while the “All Other” category grew by a whopping 61.2%. This report is based on Standard Media Index’s Cross-Platform product – the Ad Market Tracker – that indexes the movement of US advertising investment on a month-to-month basis.
