A recent Deloitte report sheds light on how digital device ownership and media consumption habits grew in the UK last year.
The report highlights a decade-high bump in tech adoption in the UK, with consumers buying a whopping 19.2 million devices between July 2020 and July this year. Britons bought around 1.6 million new devices every month over the past year.
With 40% of UK consumers now having access to a smartwatch or fitness band, the wearable devices market saw the biggest increase in ownership. This growth can be attributed to the rise of at-home workouts last year.
76% of Britons now have access to an SVOD service, with 67% having more than one service. Deloitte’s Paul Lee said, “Lockdowns left many households with more time to devote to devices and more savings to buy new technology.”
