Despite the uncertainty, searches around return to school and offices are increasing

Google's latest Global Insights Briefing highlights recent search queries and consumer behaviour analysis to develop a deep understanding of key market trends.

The briefing highlights searches for school supplies have grown globally by over 100% year-over-year. Similarly, searches for backpacks for school have increased globally by over 100% YoY, while searches for uniform stores near me have also risen by 100% YoY.

Despite uncertainty triggered by newer variants of the virus, people are looking to return to normalcy and exploring in-store shopping options. Searches for "open now near me" has been growing globally by over 200% YoY. Searches for "open 24 hours near me" have also increased by over 80%.

The study shows people are planning to go out and attend in-person events. Searches for "concerts in" have grown by over 500% YoY, while searches for "live music near me" have gone up by over 400% YoY.
