The Canadian ecommerce giant has collaborated with the video-sharing app allowing customers to buy directly from TikTok.
Shopify merchants with a TikTok business account will soon be able to add a shopping tab to their TikTok profiles. Currently, the pilot version of this feature is available to TikTok users in the US and the UK, with plans to expand the feature to other regions in the coming months.
This development is the latest in the string of announcements by social media giants like Facebook, Alphabet, and Twitter, which have added shopping features on their respective platforms. The highly sought after social commerce industry is expected to rake in around $50 billion in annual sales by 2023.
