Most people will continue shopping habits picked up in the pandemic: Facebook study

Facebook’s “Industry Perspective: The Evolving Customer Experience” report tracked customers shopping habits after the pandemic.

Around 81% of consumers confirmed their shopping habits have changed since the beginning of the pandemic. Interestingly, a whopping 92% of respondents said they would continue their new behaviour in the long term. A vast majority of consumers (66%) also reported mobile phones as their most favoured shopping tool.

SEO and content marketing are increasingly becoming important for brands looking to capture audience attention online. 55% of US shoppers said they purchased a product because “they happen to come across them unexpectedly while browsing”.

Businesses should invest more in influencer marketing and celebrity endorsements. Around 42% of US consumers surveyed said they get ideas on which products to buy from celebrities and creators.
