The project is being organised in collaboration with the mental health charity Mind UK in the English town of Retford.
Come September 25 and the residents of Retford in Nottinghamshire will participate in a series of movement initiatives and exercises. Organised by Asics, the experiment will transform the streets of Retford into a mile-long circuit, where people can get involved in various activities and measure the impact of movement on their mental well-being.
Additionally, Asics is working with the town’s council to see if they can help repair some tennis courts and running tracks in Retford for residents to use after the event. The company is also engaging local communities to gather insights on additional infrastructure and activities to be set up.
These include local running clubs near Asics stores, appointing sports ambassadors and trainers. Asics will also be encouraging the uptake of its Mind Uplifter Tool to gather individual data of all the participants. Every participant who records a Mind Uplift will raise funds for Mind UK.
