Tubi surveyed 2,000 survey sports consumers in the US, and this data was supplemented with data gathered from four focus groups.
The study revealed that 64% of American consumers stream content weekly. Currently, 29% of respondents consider streaming as their first viewing option. On a weekly basis, 78%-82% of Gen Z- millennials consume streaming video content.
81% of adult Americans are followers of at least one sport and another 50% are actively interested in 4 of more sports. Further, 74% of sports fans would stream content with ads if the streaming service itself was free.
Where 55% respondents prefer watching live sports events, 41% would watch classic or legendary events, 39% would be interested in clips and recaps and 37% would watch sports documentaries.
