But, this update is only available for creators who create their shows in Anchor, Spotify-owned creation software.

The Swedish audio-streaming platform announced today podcasters – who create their shows in Anchor – would be able to build interactive polls and Q&As into programs. With this update, Spotify is making podcasts on its platform more interactive.

The company claimed listeners across 160 markets would be able to engage with these more interactive podcasts now. However, this functionality is limited to Anchor podcasters, and it only works on the Spotify app.

The feature was first tested in September 2020, then expanded to more selected creators in February this year. The company said podcasters have already used this feature to gather guest suggestions, hear feedback and gamify their shows. Though Spotify was also testing interactive ads, it has not disclosed any detail yet.
