Twitter’s recent study in collaboration with AdAge highlights new insights into the rising TV show discussion on the platform.
The study found that every second there are six tweets about TV. Growth in replies on TV-related tweets has increased by 40% compared to 2020. Similarly, video views on TV-related tweets have also increased by 48% from 2020. Interestingly, “Squid Game” is one of the shows that has gained traction on the platform of late.
TV fans are also discussing various other topics at a higher rate this year. For instance, arts and culture discussions are up 183% from 2020; cryptocurrency tweets are up 166%; investment-related tweets are up 149%.
Compared to 2020, tweets around movies are up 29%, and gaming influencers are up 32%. The podcast and radio-related tweets have increased by 25% compared to last year, while fashion and beauty are up 17% and horoscopes are up 15%.
