As a result of COVID-19, QR code usage has increased, with 83% of the survey participants reporting using a QR code to make a payment for the first time. By 2022 as more people own smartphones, more than one billion smartphones will have access to QR codes.
In the three months running up to the poll, 45% of Americans utilised marketing-related QR codes. 45% of Americans used marketing-related QR codes. 46.75% of consumers increased QR code usage, and the QR code reach grew 96% between 2018-2020.
When it comes to adaptability, 42.55% of consumers feel secure using QR codes at gyms, pools and more. Moreover, many brands like Google Chrome and Apple also integrate QR codes within their devices and software. QR codes are preferred by Gen X (18%) and Millennials (24%) to claim offers.
