As more local sports become available online, sports fans could shift to streaming platforms, according to Parks Associate.

Live sports remains crucial for traditional pay-TV sports fans, as 55% believe access to live sports is an essential part of the service, as per the report. However, as sporting leagues sign contracts to sell streaming rights, sports fans will now have the option to shift to streaming platforms.

NFL negotiated a slew of licencing contracts for its games between 2023 and 2033 with different streaming platforms like Disney and Amazon. Similarly, Sinclair owns many regional sports networks and usually broadcasts live NBA and NHL games.

The broadcasting network plans to offer local games through an unnamed streaming service. Moreover, Apple may offer live weekday Major League Baseball games, as the company is reportedly negotiating with the league to purchase its weekday package.
