A 41% jump from 2020, Alphabet sees $257.6 billion in revenue in 2021

YouTube generated $8.6 billion in revenue in Q4 2021.

Google’s parent company, Alphabet has reported a 41% growth in revenue over 2020 to reach $257.6 billion in 2021. This was despite the pandemic, privacy regulations, and mixed responses to its new targeting solution.

Solely in Q4 2021, revenue increased 32% to $75.3 billion, compared to 41% in Q3. At $61.2 billion, ad sales contributed over 80% to the Q4 revenue. Ad revenue from Google Network and YouTube ads each grew by roughly 25%, while search revenue increased 36%.

Alphabet’s CEO, Sunder Pichai, stated that the number of YouTube creators making more than $10,000 increased to 40%. CTV is the company's fastest-growing screen, according to Chief Business Officer, Philipp Schindler. Google recently introduced Topics, a contextual-targeting solution to replace Floc, as new CCPA laws come into play in 2023.
