Meta’s revenue lifted 37% as compared to 2020, to $117.929 billion in 2021

Ad impressions for Meta's Family of Apps namely, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and others, grew 13% YoY in Q4 2021 and 10% overall.

Despite incidents like the leak of internal documents and Apple’s iOS privacy changes, Meta holdings’ revenue grew 20% to $33.671 billion in Q4 of 2021. The revenue for the whole of 2021 increased by 37% to $117.929 billion.

While the net income dropped 8% YoY to $10.285 billion in Q4, net income for 2021 climbed 35% to $39.37 billion. Meta’s Family of Apps segment reported a revenue of $115.655 billion for 2021 and $32.794 billion for Q4.

For Reality Labs in particular, the yearly revenue is $2.274 billion in 2021 and $877 million in Q4. Meta’s CFO, David Wehner forecasts $29 billion to $34 billion in capital expenditures in 2022, spread across investments in data centres, servers, network infrastructure, AI, and more.
