A Nielsen study found 122.4 million TV households in the United States as of November 2021.
There are an average of 2.3 TV sets in all 286 million US homes. More importantly, almost 44% of the TVs sets in the US are no longer reliant on cable or satellite boxes for content.
Among 122.4 million US TV homes studied, 69% have either a cable, satellite or telco service. 58% of TV viewing occurs in living rooms, followed by the primary bedroom (22%).
12% of viewers watch TV in the secondary bedroom while 6% watch it in the basement. 51% of TVs in the secondary bedrooms access content via a broadband connection – indicating streaming or virtual pay-TV services.
