Majority of event planners will host at least a portion of events virtually in 2022

A 6Connex survey found the pandemic continues to impact how events are conducted this year and beyond.

More than 75% of event planners said they would host at least a portion of their events virtually in 2022. While 51% of planners said they expect most 2022 events to be hosted in a hybrid format, 25% expect their events to be full virtually.

With COVID-19 variants still being a concern, event planners are increasingly relying more on collaborative event technologies. Around 37% of event planners reported their organisations increased investments in hybrid event technology because of coronavirus variants.32% expect more than half of their 2022 in-person events to include one or more digital elements like live-streaming.

Apart from the pandemic, sustainability looks set to play a crucial role in impacting planners’ decisions. 44% of planners anticipate the need to quantify the carbon footprints for at least a portion of their events this year.
