59% of Americans are more likely to buy products visualised by AR

CameraIQ recently polled 1,500 US consumers to discover how augmented reality (AR) impacted their relationship with brands.

The report finds that over 50% of those who haven't tried AR yet intend to do so in the future, while 76% have used it in some form or another. 78% of consumers stated they are more likely to share a brand's AR experience with their community.

Over four out of 10 consumers are more likely to post AR content on social media. Consumers (59%) are more likely to buy a product they have seen demonstrated through AR. Product visualisation is the most common AR experience, according to 39% of consumers, followed by virtual try-on of clothing, makeup, and accessories (36%).

Further, 39% of consumers prefer brands that use AR to other content types. However, only 29% of agencies are buying AR ads.
