Now companies can use Google Business Profile, previously known as Google My Business (GMB), to receive queries from prospects on desktop. With messaging, brands can communicate with users instantaneously and provide crucial information like addresses, phone numbers, and more.

Respond to consumers’ concerns, streamline customer support functions, and boost credibility by enabling messaging on Google Business Profile. Companies can set up a Profile with their Google account and display products, pictures, and more on Google Search and Google Maps.

However, brands must promptly reply to consumers’ questions, as Google monitors response times and may disable the feature if the response time is poor. Turn on notifications on desktop and mobile devices and don't make any transactions through the messaging app itself, cautions Google.
