It had been reported in January 2022, that the Facebook and Instagram teams confirms they are working on NFT integrations.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg suggested that NFTs will be added to Instagram, as per Engadget and The Daily Beast’ coverage of South By Southwest. At the event, Zuckerberg stated Instagram users would "be able to mint things within that environment."

However, it remains uncertain how minting NFTs on Instagram will work. Since Meta hasn't made any further announcements, minting features on Instagram are unlikely to appear soon. However, Zuckerberg said, "a bunch of technical things that need to get worked out before that'll really be seamless to happen."

Also, Adam Mosseri, Instagram's lead, in 2021, stated the team was "actively exploring NFTs." Twitter launched a feature earlier this year that enabled some users to set NFTs as profile pictures.
