Climate change features in the top three most pressing issues for all generations.

The latest Team Lewis Foundation study found that, among other age groups, Gen Z prioritises gender equality, enterprise and environmental issues, the most. Gender equality is the fourth most pressing societal issue for Gen Zers.

The global average across all ages places gender equality as the seventh most important issue. Similarly, Gen Z ranked economic opportunity, LGBTQ+ issues and climate change ahead of gender equality. About 66% of Gen Z believes gender equality is a serious issue.

On the contrary, only 51% of those more than 65 years of age share Gen Z’s view on gender equality. The study also found that Gen Z (24%) is more aware that women are disproportionately affected by climate change. Only 17% of people aged 65 years and older recognise the intersection between climate change and gender equality.
