The service will officially shut down on 30 April.

CNN has announced it will be shutting down its newly launched paid streaming service, CNN Plus. The announcement comes after reports from earlier this week, that CNN’s parent company Warner Bro. Discovery (WBD) had suspended marketing for CNN Plus.

According to CNN and WBD, current subscribers of CNN Plus will receive “prorated refunds of subscription fees.” However, the company also hinted that some version of CNN Plus could find its way to be a part of a larger streaming service.

“As we become Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN will be strongest as part of WBD’s streaming strategy which envisions news as an important part of a compelling broader offering along with sports, entertainment, and nonfiction content,” said Chris Licht, head, CNN Worldwide.
