In North America, mobile devices accounted for 69% of traffic, according to Chartbeat.

A new Chartbeat report says reader engagement has grown in Q1 of 2022. Most regions saw an average of over 30 seconds of Average Engaged Time. While Latin America led the chart with an Average Engaged Time of 34.7 seconds, North America and Southern Europe registered a 30.5-second growth.

Central Asia saw the highest proportion of traffic (87%) coming from mobile devices, while Northern Europe accounted for 72% of mobile traffic. However, mobile referrals dropped by 1-2% in most regions. When it comes to pageviews from social platforms, North America accounted for 18% of the traffic, while Africa led at 20%.

Northern Europe and Central/Eastern Europe, at 48% and 45%, respectively, had the highest levels of loyalty – readers returning to a site at least half of the days in a two-week period. Jack Neary, Content Manager, Chartbeat, notes, “With many regions seeing incremental increases in engagement last quarter, it will be important to build on this momentum.”
