The app had experimented with and scrapped the live shopping feature in the UK after a tepid consumer response.

Media reports say that TikTok is partnering with live shopping platform TalkShopLive to let users buy directly from livestreams. The ByteDance-owned platform is expected to launch the feature next month in time for the upcoming holiday season.

With TalkShopLive, sellers can create a channel and add products they want to sell. On TikTok, it will allow customers to scroll through the products in a sidebar next to the livestream and buy the product from within the platform itself.

The technology will be integrated into TikTok's TikTok Live feature. Reportedly, the social media site will initially cover the commission that TalkShopLive would make. In 2021, TikTok made $4.6 billion in revenue from ad sales and in-app purchases of coins.
