The streaming giant, which is launching its Ad Tier service, has over 233 million subscribers.

After two quarters where it shed subscribers,  Netflix beat its projection of a million new subscribers in its latest quarterly report. This report comes out just weeks before the launch of Netflix's ad-supported tier later this year.

The streaming service saw the APAC and EMEA regions contribute 1.3 million and 600,000 new subscribers, respectively. On the other hand, Canada and US markets only added 100,000 new customers.

The streaming service is also projecting 4.5 million subscribers for the next quarter. While the company will keep releasing information on its revenue, operating income and margins, net income, and EPS, this will be the last time it releases subscriber numbers.
