Less than half of the retailers expect to effectively manage online SKU growth: Study

According to an Incisiv survey, many brands feel ill-equipped to deal with digital retail challenges. 

As per the survey only around two-thirds of respondents said they could effectively manage in-store orders and the variety of digital assets. Most respondents feel they are unprepared to face the complexities of digital retail. 

Over the next 12 months, 81% of retailers expect increases in product returns, while 65% expect store-related digital orders to increase. As such, retailers are planning to boost the number of digital assets and online SKUs by 67% and 69%, respectively. Less than half of the retailers say they can manage product returns and SKU growth. 

Additionally, more than two-thirds of retailers stated that current store fulfilment (39%) and personalisation platforms (40%) will not meet their needs. Over 40% feel that their product catalogue and content management systems will not meet their needs.
