Google Search users can leverage new add-on prompts to refine search results

The search engine has previously used guided search prompts for images, recipes, and the Shopping tab. 

Google’s new update will provide users with lists of search-related topics to narrow down the final search page results. According to Google, people can add or remove statements, which can be identified by the “+” symbol. 

These topic listings are designed to be dynamic and evolve with the user’s search behaviour. Additionally, Google will show the topics and filters in the order the algorithm determines will best aid search results. As such, this update may significantly drive future discovery trends and improve search functionality.

The update should not impact existing SEO trends, as the add-on qualifiers should align with what people are already searching for. However, it could influence long-tail keyword search terms by guiding user behaviour towards more common trends over time.
