The AI is, as of now, open to "trusted testers."
On Monday, Alphabet's Sundar Pichai, through a blog post announced that Google's conversational AI service - Bard - is currently in the testing phase. In the next few weeks, a more public release is to follow.
With Bard, Google will look to "combine the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of Google’s large language models by drawing on information from the web to provide quality responses." In the testing phase, it will reportedly ensure that Bard's responses meet "the high bar for quality, safety and groundedness in real-world information."
Bard will be powered by LaMDA, Google's Language Model for Dialogue Applications. The AI will be previewed on February 8, 2023 in Paris, at an event titled 'Search, Maps and Beyond.'
