This is the first time a chief sustainability officer has been appointed at the group.
American cosmetics company Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has appointed Nancy Mahon as its first chief sustainability officer. In her new role, Mahon will focus on the ‘strategic integration’ of the company’s sustainability initiatives.
Mahon will also occupy the position of executive director of ELC’s Charitable Foundation. She will also continue to be a member of the Foundation's ESG Management Committee.
According to ELC's president and CEO, Fabrizio Freda, sustainability is a key part of ELC's corporate strategy. Freda adds, "Appointing Nancy to chief sustainability officer is an example of our company’s ambition and focus on these initiatives."
