Both external and internal candidates were explored for the role.
Riot Games has a new chief executive at its helm. The American video games developer and publisher named its present global president Dylan Jadeja as its next CEO.
Jadeja will take charge from Nicolo Laurent who led the company as its CEO for six years and has been with the publisher for 14 years. To ensure a smooth transition, Laurent and Jadeja will work together in the coming months. Laurent will move into an advisory role at the company.
According to Youngme Moon, special advisor to Riot, in Jadeja, Riot gets someone "who can balance creativity and empathy with business acumen, navigate a complex industry environment and build strong teams that can execute on its mission of being the most player-focused game company in the world". Jadeja's appointment follows a multiyear internal and external search.
