(Week of 5/19/2012) Nearly eight in ten Americans have heard of last week’s Facebook IPO, but despite the media frenzy about the company, few Americans believe Facebook stock is worth holding onto. In the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, only 14% of those aware of the IPO said Facebook stock was a good long-term investment.
More than half don’t believe it’s a good investment.
That feeling is shared among all groups, including younger adults, the original Facebook users. And adults under 30 are the least likely to even have heard of the IPO. Just 66% of them have, compared with 79% overall.
