CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER

Are you our new Manager Client Services on the BrandIndex/Profiles team?

YouGov’s ‘Products’ group seeks an energetic and analytic person to join its team as a Client Services Manager. The primary responsibilities include training / implementing our new clients on our reporting interfaces, producing PowerPoint analysis of recent brand activities and working collaboratively with YouGov colleagues to manage our current client roster subscribing to our data products. This position includes a variety of client facing opportunities as well as work with our sales, PR and YouGov management team.

The role requires excellent research, communication and people management skills. ‘Managers’ are expected to be highly organized and efficient in leading the day to day relationship of key accounts. This also includes growing the business through upselling opportunities and strengthening our relationships with a wide variety of clients. The role would include forging and maintaining connections with senior level contacts at some of the biggest companies in the world. We do not focus on simply providing data, but offering the insights to turn rigorous research into strategic action thus demonstrating the absolute necessity of YouGov data. This is a concept that candidates are expected to demonstrate.

We need a candidate who has the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Results driven focus and ability to see issues through to completion in a timely manner
  • Strong problem solving skills and Microsoft Office know-how
  • 3+ years experience in client service / marketing / market research

POLITICAL ANALYST

Are you our new Political Analyst for YouGov Blue?

YouGov Blue is a new unit of YouGov exclusively serving Democratic and progressive clients. We leverage the panels, methodology, and technology infrastructure of YouGov to develop novel capabilities to help progressives succeed at the ballot and in the legislative arena. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about both fighting for Democratic and progressive candidates and causes and about statistics and survey methodology to come join us. 

What will I be doing?

As a political analyst/senior political analyst, you will work with our clients to design survey and modeling programs, set research goals, manage the logistics of projects, and report results. You’ll analyze and interpret opinion and modeling data, and advise our clients on how to apply our learnings. You should be as comfortable discussing the finer points of survey design and methodology as you are explaining those points to people without a technical background.

We care more about your experience and skills than your schooling, but the relevant educational background is a Bachelors or Masters in the quantitative social sciences, statistics, or other relevant scientific areas.

What do I need to bring with me?
• Extensive knowledge of survey research, including experience designing, fielding, and analyzing large-scale surveys and survey experiments
• Experience performing data analyses in R, Python, or comparable software
• Ability to digest and communicate statistical information to nontechnical stakeholders
• Strong project management, written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail
• Prior work experience for Democratic campaigns, polling or analytics firms, or other progressive organizations

Nice to haves:

DATA SCIENTIST

What will I be doing?

As a data scientist, your responsibilities will include statistical analysis of survey data including nonresponse, weighting, imputation, and matching; the design and execution of modeling and other analyses for internal and external research projects; and contributions to our existing internal codebase for statistical analysis.

We care more about your programming skills than your schooling, but the relevant educational background is a Masters or Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, quantitative social science, or other relevant scientific area. 

What do I need to bring with me? 
• Knowledge of applied statistics and econometrics is essential
• Expert programmer in R and comfortable in Python or C/C++
• 3+ years of experience performing statistical analyses on large datasets, including survey analysis and building hierarchical and predictive models
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on fast deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

What will I be doing?

You will have the chance to own a designated territory; discovering, developing and managing accounts and handling complex negotiations and contracts, ideally from selling to consumer brands or media agencies. Your commercial awareness of subscription products and excellent communication skills will allow you to really promote YouGov’s data offerings, and your relentless energy, positive attitude and never-give-up approach will give you the platform to succeed.

Day-to-day you will be working on your own initiative and have the ability to motivate yourself. What do I need to bring with me?

As you’d expect, you will already be an experienced sales person with exceptional hunter-style business development skills, along with a demonstrable track record of sales achievements (and plenty of them). You’ll ideally have experience of the subscription sales and have dealt with average deal values in excess of $100k. Naturally we also expect excellent written English language skills, and being extremely personable and client facing is crucial.

The Sales Associate is responsible for identifying key contacts within potential clients, gaining access to those executives to pitch our powerful survey solutions and closing those meetings with positive results.

The Sales Associate will be involved in the further development and account management among clients brought in, the identification of potential clients within other business sectors or functions within businesses, and assisting with the development of advertising, promotion, and collateral materials to support the business development efforts.

JUNIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Are you our new Junior Research Associate?

This entry-level role is a great opportunity to work in the YouGov US Omnibus Team, developing as a market researcher specializing in fast-turnaround Omnibus and bespoke sample research projects on a whole host of topics. This role will involve research design, project management, direct client liaison, attention to detail and lots of teamwork. For the talented and fast-learning, the role will equip the researcher with the basic tools of market research and understanding of a range of research sectors.

What will I be doing?

Sample & Questionnaire design

  • Design questionnaires and basic sample frames with team guidance
  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of different data collection methods and the principles of good questionnaire design
  • Communicate with client to seek out the their objectives and then ensure the research design accounts for these

Survey implementation & Project Management

  • Work with teammates and other departments to design and run projects from start to finish
  • Manage several projects at different stages simultaneously and be the day-to-day point of contact for clients
  • Write basic proposals to summarize all relevant project parameters to potential clients
  • Cost basic projects unassisted, and to recognize when to seek advice from colleagues

Data analysis and presentation

  • Understand basic statistical analysis (percentages, means, medians and confidence intervals/statistical testing)
  • Understand the principles of data sampling and weighting
  • Interpret data, employing attention to detail and knowledge of statistics to recognize when findings are inaccurate or unclear
