(Week of 6/30/2012) Chief Justice John Roberts, who often has been a conservative voice on the Supreme Court, should be liked by Republicans. But after his decision to side with the Court’s four liberal justices to uphold most of the Affordable Care Act, he finds himself slightly more popular with Democrats in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll.

Americans divide fairly closely in their opinion of Roberts. Democrats narrowly give Roberts a negative rating; Republicans give him a negative rating as well, but by a somewhat wider margin.
