Most of the president’s supporters are voting for him because they like him, while Biden’s backers are voting for the Democrat to oppose Donald Trump
The latest CBS News/YouGov Battleground Tracker shows Joe Biden leading Donald Trump by 52%-46% among likely voters in Nevada.
The Democrat has a clear lead among women voters (57% to 40%) while the president holds the edge among men (52% to 46%).
Donald Trump 's supporters are primarily motivated to vote for the president because they like him (62%), with notably smaller groups backing him in order to oppose Joe Biden (23%) or because he is the Republican candidate (15%).
Meanwhile, the Democratic nominee’s support is largely driven by opposition to Donald Trump (60%), those supporting him because they like him (27%), and those who plan to vote for him because he is the Democratic nominee (13%).
Two in five likely voters in Nevada (41%) plan to vote in person early before Election Day, a figure that includes around half (48%) of Republicans, two in five (42%) Independents and one in three (35%) Democrats. Just over a third (36%) plan to vote by mail or absentee ballot, including half (52%) of Democrats, one in three (32%) Independents and one in six (18%) Republicans. Fewer than a quarter (23%) are intending to vote in person on November 3rd, with a third (34%) of Republicans planning on casting their ballot this way, along with a quarter (26%) of Independents and one in eight (13%) Democrats.
