The latest Yahoo / YouGov poll reveals the biggest concerns voters have going into this year’s presidential election.
Ballots going uncounted remains the top concern among the voters in general – 66% are somewhat or very worried about it, ahead of the following potential issues: the election result not being accepted by one of the candidates (60%), people being prevented from voting (53%), foreign interference (51%), and fraudulent postal voting (48%).
Three in ten (30%) voters think this year’s election will be rigged in favor of one candidate or another, with Trump supporters (41%) nearly twice as likely as Biden supporters (22%) to share this concern.
Only about three in five voters (57%) trust their state to accurately count all the votes in this year’s election; about one in five (22%) do not, and roughly the same number (21%) are not sure.
Methodology: The Yahoo! News survey was conducted by YouGov using a nationally representative sample of 1,583 U.S. registered voters interviewed online between October 16 – 18, 2020. This sample was weighted according to gender, age, race, and education based on the American Community Survey, conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, as well as 2016 Presidential vote, registration status, geographic region, and news interest. The margin of error for the sample was 4.0%.
