Senate race in virtual dead heat
The latest CBS News/YouGov Battleground Tracker shows Donald Trump and Joe Biden tied (49% vs. 49%) among likely voters in Georgia.
The President leads among White voters without college degrees (76% to 22%), White voters with college degrees (57% to 41%) and men (53% to 44%), while the Democrat leads among Black voters (85% to 13%) and women (53% to 46%).
Joe Biden’s support is divided between those backing him because they like him (47%), those supporting him in order to oppose Donald Trump (37%), and those who plan to vote for him because he is the Democratic nominee (15%).
But that is not the case for the president's supporters. They are primarily motivated to vote for Trump because they like him (69%), with notably smaller groups voting for him in order to oppose Joe Biden (20%) or because he is the Republican nominee (11%).
Half (51%) of Georgia voters who have not already voted plan to do so early and in person, before Election Day, while 37% plan to vote in person on 3 November and 12% plan to vote by mail or absentee ballot.
Georgia’s US Senate race is in a virtual dead heat between Republican incumbent David Perdue (47%) and Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff (47%).

Methodology: This survey was conducted on behalf of CBS News by YouGov between October 20-23, 2020. It is based on a representative sample of 1,102 registered voters in Georgia. The margin of error for likely voters in Georgia is ±3.4 points.
