With the 2020 presidential election tomorrow, a new Yahoo News / YouGov poll finds that 51% registered voters say they don’t think Donald Trump is going to concede to Joe Biden if the Republican loses the election.
By contrast, only a quarter (28%) think that Joe Biden will refuse to admit defeat in the event that he loses to Trump.
Supporters on both sides are likely to say they don’t expect a concession from the opposite candidate. While half (51%) of Trump supporters say a concession from Biden is unlikely, 73% of Biden supporters say the same about Trump.
If Biden wins the election, his supporters (76%) say they expect him to accept the results and concede to Trump. Trump supporters are slightly less confident their candidate will accept the results, with 53% saying they expect him to concede if he loses, although 22% are unsure and another quarter (25%) think that he won’t.

Methodology: The Yahoo News survey was conducted by YouGov using a nationally representative sample of 1,501 registered U.S. voters interviewed online from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. This sample was weighted according to gender, age, race and education based on the American Community Survey, conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, as well as 2016 president vote, registration status, geographic region and news interest. Respondents were selected from YouGov’s opt-in panel to be representative of all U.S registered voters. The margin of error is approximately 2.9 percent.
