A survey asked consumers in both countries about their attitudes and perceptions of the tech industry.
Majority of consumers in the US and UK trust tech companies despite considerable scepticism, according to a study by FleishmanHillard. 82% American respondents and 79% of UK respondents said that they generally trust tech companies.
This piece says that despite the high trusts levels, almost 70% of respondents from both the countries said tech companies need to address issues like data breaches, transparency and security. 31% of the respondents thought tech companies aren’t regulated enough.
Younger consumers in the US are more apprehensive about tech companies than UK consumers. Around 22% of millennials and 26% of Gen Z respondents in the US said they were sceptical about tech companies.
