Yelp, Verizon Media and Microsoft are predicted to lose market share to Amazon.
As per a forecast from eMarketer, Amazon’s search ads revenue in the US will grow 65% to $11.7 billion by 2021. It will cut into Google’s market share, which is predicted to fall from 73% in 2019 to 71% by 2021 as users shift to Amazon to start their product searches.
The US search ad market will grow nearly 18% this year to $55.2 billion. Additionally, Yelp, Verizon Media and Microsoft are predicted to lose their share to Amazon.
The report estimates Amazon to be the only business whose share of the US search market will grow in the next few years. Additionally, the combined market share of search ads of Walmart, Target, eBay and Pinterest is 4% of the total.
