Its shopping tab feature for IGTV (and probably for Reels in the future) is indicative of the platform’s ecommerce focus.
To mark its tenth anniversary, Instagram has rolled out some new features. Users will now have access to a Stories Map. A Stories Map will give users a private look at where they’ve posted Instagram Stories from, where a location sticker was used.
Instagram has also enabled in-stream shopping for IGTV and intimated of a similar feature being introduced to Reels later on. Features such as these could be motivators for advertisers to use IGTV and Reels more.
Another visual change introduced allows users to customise their app icon on the home screen to match their home screen themes. Users are required to update the app to discover the “hidden” custom icons.
