Starting from 3 August 2021, US advertisers can promote their cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets on Google.
Google has announced that businesses can soon run adverts for cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets. The search engine has made it mandatory for all those promoting cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets in the US to be a registered financial company that complies with laws and Google Ads policies.
Ads for initial coin offerings, DeFi trading protocols or ads promoting the purchase, sale or trade of cryptocurrency or related products would not be allowed on Google. The search engine would also not allow advertising destinations that aggregate or compare issuers of cryptocurrency or related products.
To be certified by Google, advertisers need to be legally compliant across local, state or federal level. They must also be registered with a federal or state chartered bank entity.
