Snapchat’s shared its insights on the app performance and usage at the third annual Partner Summit.
Around 45% of social media users use Snapchat several times a day, while Facebook is used several times a day by 49% of users, Instagram by 38% and Twitter by 30%. Some people open Snapchat on average 30 times a day. Nearly one in every two smartphone users is on Snapchat, and the app currently has over 500 million monthly active users.
The platform has seen a 30% increase year-over-year in engagement with Snapchat users over 35 years old. Snapchat also launched a new AR-enabled spectacle during the summit that aims to bridge offline and online worlds.
Snapchat has also launched “Dynamic Shopping Lenses” that would allow businesses to add stock in real-time. Additionally, brands can now create public profiles on the platform to showcase their highlights, stories and lenses.
