An SK Group survey of 1,500 US adults found that 53% believe it is essential to work for companies that are committed to addressing climate change.
Despite 59% of Americans have never heard of Environmental, Social, and Governances (ESG) practices, 68% believe companies must be honest about sustainability commitments. People aged 18-34 had stronger beliefs in this regard, with 74% believing it is critical.
With 59% and 64%, respectively, Gen Z and millennials believe firms must address climate change. 79% of those who are actively seeking jobs say it is an important consideration in their next company.
52% of employees in the US want companies’ environmental sustainability practices to align with their own. Hyung-Hee Lee, social value committee president of the SK Supex Council, notes “Employees across all levels want to work for organisations that are having a positive impact on the environment.”
