Sprout Social’s recent survey of 1,000 US social marketers revealed driving brand awareness, community engagement, and growing audiences are top social goals for marketers.

With 90% of marketers relying on social data to stay ahead of the competition, businesses are using social data to differentiate themselves in the market. According to the report, 86% of marketers look for new business opportunities using competitor insights from social data.

However, 15% of marketers are measuring ROI using social data and 10% used it to inform business decisions. Moreover, as expectations for great customer service grow, 31% of consumers prefer social channels to share feedback about products and services.

Most used social platforms among consumers are Facebook (87%), YouTube (74%), and Instagram (68%). Nine in 10 consumers that follow a brand on social, are more likely to purchase from that brand (85%).
