The new platform/service, Bulletin, will let writers distribute newsletters on Facebook, post them on the internet, and email them to their subscribers.

Facebook is launching Bulletin, a new subscription newsletter service that allows writers to publish free and paid newsletters. “At launch”, the service will be free for writers. Further, they will retain the full ownership of their work and subscribers list on Bulletin.

While Bulletin isn’t accepting signups yet, Facebook has partnered up with many writers for the beta period of the platform. Writers like Malcolm Gladwell, Tan France, and Erin Andrews, among others, were signed up by Facebook to cover areas such as sports, finance, science, and more.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg says Bulletin is “focused on empowering independent writers, helping them reach new audiences and power their businesses.” Bulletin will compete with Substack and other newsletter services, like Twitter's Revue.
