Consumers' yearning for adventure is increasing as COVID-19 recedes and restrictions are relaxed. When it came to leisure travel, a third of US online adults expressed excitement rather than concern.
43% of customers with a household income of $100,000 or more, are enthusiastic about leisure travel. Similar emotions were expressed by 27% of individuals with a household income of less than $50,000, 40% of rural consumers, and 37% of parents with children in the family.
While 36% of consumers plan to travel domestically this year rather than internationally, 34% plan to drive to their destinations than fly. However, 27% of adults will only travel when “absolutely necessary” and 29% will travel after being fully vaccinated. Most consumers plan to travel with their close friends and families.
