TikTok’s future post-pandemic looks promising with over two billion downloads globally in Q1 2020. Adult TikTok users now spend more time on TikTok than adult Facebook users do on Facebook. The ByteDance-owned platform is also expected to have more Gen Z users than Instagram this year, and more US users than Snapchat by 2023.
With people working remotely and craving human conversations, audio-only apps like Clubhouse gained huge popularity during the pandemic. But, audio-only features and apps are less likely to stay in a post-pandemic world when people return to work in offices.
The awareness around misinformation would continue to improve with time even when the pandemic is over. With people returning to normal life and in-person events, live streaming could reach its pre-pandemic popularity levels.
