Sprout Social’s data revealed that mentions of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) reached 6.9 million tweets on Twitter and Reddit posts.
According to the survey, cryptocurrencies and NFTs have become popular on social media, with Dogecoin-related terms accounting for 9.48 million Twitter mentions in April and June 2021. Positive remarks accounted for 46% of the total mentions, while neutral mentions accounted for 45%.
#Doge with 1.88 million mentions was the highest-ranked Dogecoin hashtag. At 6.57 million, #crypto was the most trending hashtag on Twitter, followed by #bitcoin (5.94 million). The platform saw, 141,352 messages cryptocurrency as a daily average.
The top trending hashtags for NFT were #nftcommunity (1.07 million). Talks around GameStop also grew, with 9.35 million Reddit posts and tweets discussing the topic since 1 January. Jamie Gilpin, Sprout Social CMO, said “Social media has recently taken on an expanded role in the conversations surrounding cryptocurrency.”
